1) Name, Age, and Location.
My name is Devin (Rat) Peters, and I'm 15 from San Diego, CA.
2) How did you hear about Fox Company, 506th?
I learned about you while googling for a World War II re-enactment group near me.
3) Do you have any reenacting experience? Have you done World War II reenacting before?
I don't have any re-enacting experience, though I would like to start.
4) Why do you want to join our unit? What drew you to us instead of some of the other Allied units in the CHG and RPS?
I want to join your unit because you seem like people who are passionate both about re-enacting, and American History. My grandfather, Edwin Peters, flew with the 350th Fighter Group before being shot down over the English Channel, losing his leg, by two German pilots in 1944. Because of this, I've spent most of my life interested in the fighter pilots and paratroopers of World War II.
5) What knowledge do you have of the Second World War? Are you familiar with the roles of the American paratrooper?
I know quite a bit of WW2 history, as it's very important to my family, and I have, both in the past and currently, been researching airborne groups in World War II through historical databases.
6) Have you had any contact with World War II veterans previously?
Although my grandfather died in 1991, I am involved with local veterans. I grew up with the Mount Soledad Cross Veterans Memorial a block away from my school, and we often had walking trips there to meet veterans, which is where I initially became fascinated with World War II. I have also met multiple veterans through historical research and museums.
7) What can you bring to this unit? Will you be an asset?
I am eager to fight with your unit, physically fit, and prepared to give you my all. I am a positive, outgoing person, and I strive to pursue my hobbies and interests with utmost dedication.
8) Anything else we should know about you?
I'm currently a student at Francis Parker School, in Linda Vista, San Diego. I'm a member of my local branch of Amnesty International and I'm highly involved in the arts and humanities.
