Hello, everyone. As much as I wish for my introduction to the thread to be nice and matchless-I'll just cut straight to business.
1) Name, Age, and Location.
My name is Tyler Kiyoshi Inouye. As of the 6th of this month I am 18, and I am currently living from Rialto, CA.
2) How did you hear about Fox Company, 506th?
I heard about this particular reenactment division through another reenacting friend and through the CHG site.
3) Do you have any reenacting experience? Have you done World War II reenacting before?
I have participated in Civil War reenactments along with a few Golden Age of Piracy reenactments when I was younger.
4) Why do you want to join our unit? What drew you to us instead of some of the other Allied units in the CHG and RPS?
What drew me towards this unit in particular was the seemingly firm, yet passionate desire for accuracy and nothing else, down the last bootstrap. What also drew me was the priority of wellness and respect among their peers, which other's haven't spoken to me much about.
5) What knowledge do you have of the Second World War? Are you familiar with the roles of the American paratrooper?
I have a proficient knowledge of WW2 History, though it seems as if there is always something new for me to learn when I had thought I had heard it all. Which is what I suppose excites me so much about sharing this hobby with others. I am familiar and interested.
6) Have you had any contact with World War II veterans previously?
My last interaction with a WW2 vet was about 6th months ago where I was in an elevator with a veteran and his caretaker. He struck conversation with me and after learning about my interest in the history he lived he told me a story of his childhood friend, in which he fought in the pacific theatere with. It was his 96th birthday. I hope he is well.
7) What can you bring to this unit? Will you be an asset?
I am a young, eager solider willing to lay down just about anything for the sake of maintaining that same level of accuracy and high energy used in the same battles we replicate. I also love cooperating with teams and adapting to my allies to figure out dynamics that will work to our best results.
8) Anything else we should know about you?
I am currently a college student, working their best to maintain such expensive hobbies like reenacting and SFX work while also trying to keep the lights on. I am one to carry my promises and will attempt to pay for as much of the uniforms/equipment as I can. However loners will be needed until I am able to cover the rest of my gear. I'm sure this also goes without saying, however I am a Japanese/Hispanic American and I am no stranger to blatant racism on the field of reenacting. I'm sure that the level of respect in this unit is far beyond something so low-thinking. But, I just wish to go without saying that I will not tolerate it. Thank you very much for being strong enough to read it this far.
