1) Name, Age, and Location. William (Liam) Bonner, 45, from Twin Falls, Idaho
2) How did you hear about Fox Company, 506th? I found Fox Company through the CHG site, where I used to be a member of the old Easy Company, 2/506PIR from 2002-2003.
3) Do you have any reenacting experience? Have you done World War II reenacting before? I have done a 101st and a German recreation in the past, but I have been away for about 10 years. I was part of the CHG and a Texas group.
4) Why do you want to join our unit? What drew you to us instead of some of the other Allied units in the CHG and RPS? I have done a lot of research about the 101st in the past, and being a member of an elite unit is what I would like to do. Also, I want to try and be as historically accurate as possible.
5) What knowledge do you have of the Second World War? Are you familiar with the roles of the American paratrooper? I have a BA in US Military History with an emphasis in 19th and 20th century. I have already read dozens of books on US Airborne operations during WWII and I’m very familiar with the roles they played.
6) Have you had any contact with World War II veterans previously? Both of my Grandfathers served during WWII in the US Army, while I have a Step Grandfather that was in the Krigesmarine, along with meeting several other veterans from the war.
7) What can you bring to this unit? Will you be an asset? I will be able to bring my previous reenactment experience with me, as well as my own combat experiences from my three tours in Iraq with the USMC and the US Army. I will also be bringing along my wife to some events, who has a degree in Historical Costuming and is a professional seamstress specializing in the recreation of historical clothing and has experience in reenacting in the past.
8) Anything else we should know about you? I am going to be able to come to a couple of events a year, traveling down from Idaho. Anything else please feel free to ask.
