1) Name, Age, and Location.
Jeffrey Sobrato, 33, San Jose CA
2) How did you hear about Fox Company, 506th?
Been getting back into WWII history and collecting of WWII equipment (something I did quite a bit in my teens) and wanted to dive into reenactment. I was perusing the links referenced from AtTheFront.com and was able to find this unit, which looked the most compelling and have always been enthralled with the 101st.
3) Do you have any reenacting experience? Have you done World War II reenacting before?
In my teens I attended 2 events.
4) Why do you want to join our unit? What drew you to us instead of some of the other Allied units in the CHG and RPS?
I have been a lifelong collector of WW2 militaria, specifically 101st airborne, years before the Band of Brothers series premiered. Figures, authentic historical items, repro, etc. I was very excited to find an active, California-based group with high standards!
5) What knowledge do you have of the Second World War? Are you familiar with the roles of the American paratrooper?
Fairly robust. Been actively seeking out content on it my whole life.
6) Have you had any contact with World War II veterans previously?
Yes. Not asked but in case of interest, Grandpa was an Army MP in WW2, Great Uncle was an Army Infantry Sgt in Vietnam, and G-grandpa was an Infantry PFC with the Big Red One in WWI.
7) What can you bring to this unit? Will you be an asset?
I'll bring enthusiasm, authenticity (action and equipment), and active participation. I also hope to help the unit financially!
8) Anything else we should know about you?
I work in commercial real estate and serve on a number of boards of some varied organizations. I also produce documentary films.
