Welcome Daniel. I’m a SoCal member and available if you have any questions. I’ll be attending the Chino Air Show if you want to talk.

My apologies, I don't think I can make it to the April event mainly because of transportation (I don't have a car). As far as future events, more likely than not I will stick with events that are close to So Cal area.

Daniel. We are currently working on a list of people to carpool from So Cal to the event. Its is a commitment for the whole weekend. If you can take the time to attend all weekend we will find a way to get you to the event.
email me your phone #. I'll give you a shout this week. AG

Plus, I still haven't saved enough to buy some jump boots, so it may take some time before I can get them for the next event/my first event.

Size 9 or 10 or 11 should do just fine. Is that one of the options?

I have several questions about the this unit as whole: 1. Do you have a chain of command? If so do you expect all of its members to follow it? 2. Is military customs and courtesies required of every member? 3. Are FNGs divided amongst each squads/teams/platoons?

You should NOT be wearing oversized or too small boots.

I think I saw a salute once but it was probably just someone shooing away a fly.

We do have a chain of command.
in formation or in the barracks during ceremony we follow ww2 standards.
New recruits address members of rank by their rank, just as they did back then.
Once in the field or during late night chow, guys address each other by name or nickname, just as they did in ww2.
FNGs are assigned to squads,,gun crews, or the Hq section as needed.
No no one goes rogue in the field. We operate using verbal or hand signals for fire and manuever, and fight as a unit regardless of the size...squad or platoon.
