Hey fellas-
I saw a couple of unit members this past weekend and was told this was a pretty swell unit to join. I used to reenact and I don't know when I can come out again but I have some kit from long ago that I can use.
At any rate, I was told I should sign up on this forum, introduce myself and start socializing so here I am.
Nice to meet you all!

Well I guess I'm a little too well known around these parts. Glad to be back on here, fellas. I am back in California, we moved back last year. I need to get my stuff together and get back out to an event one of these days.

Hey guys,
Originally from Holland and of course I know about 101st and 82nd. This year my son and I did the Band of Brothers tour backwards on our own. Starting at Eagles Nest, Dachau, crossing the river where Patton pissed in the Rhine (which we did too) to Patton's grave, and then Bastogne. Was in the original fox holes of the 101st, visited the Museum of the 101st and found out details I never knew and saw first hand what a hell those guys had to go through. Then off to Normandy for the celebrations. St. Mere Eglise, Vier Ville sure mer and of course all the festivities.
What was a super surprise is that we passed a Dutch touring car and I saw uniforms I recognized. My old Military Band that I served in 1970/1972 was there to honor D Day and give acte de presence!
No need to say that last but not least we went to Holland, my country of birth, and went to Schoonderlogt and took pictures where the incredible Major Winters stood in September 1944 (It's in my facebook profile)
I have the M42 Uniform and bought the helmet of the 101st in Normandy. I use my old Dutch brown army boots and I have a restored 1944 Willys MB
Needless to say I'm very interested in joining.
Any questions, let me know
Wish I could add some pictures
