1) Name, Age, and Location?
My name is Caleb Gray age 25 from Heber City Utah
2) How did you hear about Fox Company, 506th?
I heard about this company from a long time buddy Scottie Meek (Eddie?)
3) Do you have any reenacting experience? Have you done World War II reenacting before?
Yes, I grew up Civil War reenacting with my father since age 7. I've attended one WW2 event, "March on Rome" in NM this past July.
4) Why do you want to join our unit? What drew you to us instead of some of the other Allied units in the CHG and RPS?
I've heard many good things about this unit over the past couple of years, company and event organization, authenticity standards and the respect of those gone before. I like reenacting organizations that are more than "burning powder". Its also fairly local with some familiar faces which also draws appeal.
5) What knowledge do you have of the Second World War? Are you familiar with the roles of the American paratrooper?
I've learned a fair amount about the Second World War however I feel very short of what I desire to know. Hence my interest into an immersive style of learning in hopes of surrounding myself with those who know more about it than I do. I am most familiar with the American paratrooper and their roles.
6) Have you had any contact with World War II veterans previously?
Yes, I have had the fortune of visiting with my wife's grandfather prior to his passing. A special man indeed.
Nyle Clifford: Radio operator and repairman for the 414th Field Artillery of the 20th Armored Division. He landed in France in 1944. He was at the Bulge in France, Belgium and Germany. He received a commendation for designing a radio headset wiring connection that wouldn't pull out of the radio box when pilots in observation planes turned their heads. He was in Austria when the war ended.
7) What can you bring to this unit? Will you be an asset?
I am merely a humble observer/participant in hopes of gaining more knowledge through a living history environment. I am team player with interest in organization success and longevity. I have an understanding as my position as an FNG or "new guy" when coming into anything new. I am also a musician, I enjoy providing background strums to late night conversations and camp environments. I'm aslo laid back and up for about anything in new hobbies.
