Hello,
My name is Hollis I'm 27 years old and live in Elko,NV. I first heard of Fox company 506th from watching videos on YouTube and from the CHG website. I've never had experience in reenacting, but theres always a first for everything. I have done 4 or 5 milsim west operations. I'm interested in the 506th because they were the best of hte best, also because Captain Richard Winters is one of my heros.
I'm familiar with the roles of the paratroopers in WW2, learning the history of WW2 is a favorite hobby of mine whether through books written by men who were there or watching documentaries, WW2 aviation also fascinates me. I've only had the privilege of meeting a WW2 vet once, who was a navigator on a B-17. I can work well with others and because of my job as a heavy hauler I'm used to working as a team with others whether it be helping co-workers or working with crane operators. Ive already acquired my m42's and my jump boots, working on getting my webbing gear and m2.

Hi Hollis, I have updated your profile now that you posted an introduction. Look around on the board an read up what you can. The event at the end of the month will be the last one of the year. Our next big event will be in January. Most events we attend these days tend to be mid to late war scenarios so try to get a set of M-43 uniform and rigger modified trousers. At The Front is you best bet. Let us know if you have any questions. AG-

Okay, I'm really going to try and come to a late September event so that I can at least get my feet wet before the end of the year. Are there loaner rifles for events? Not sure that I can acquire an m1 in time for my first event. Thanks.

Thank you Red, one other question. I saw that you need the m37 wool shirt for the Market Garden impression, would the flannel version on ATF also work?

Welcome Hollis!
As an FNG you will find that the unit will accommodate with loaner gear as best as we can
Without a primary weapon, you may be put into a Medic impression
However, leadership will definitely weigh the options and come up with a solution
Your primary focus has been met since you have your jump boots so gather what you can based on the TOE for the next event
Best thing to do now is go through your personal inventory and compare it to the event TOE, then post what you will be needing
Leadership can then assess your situation and assemble a kit to put you in the field
As I can not make it to the Market Garden Operation, you will have to rely on unit members collecting extra gear for your kit
Come January, you will be able to coordinate with me for any needed loaner gear
Read up plenty on the forum and get acquainted with everyone
See you on the DZ

Welcome to the forums, Hollis. Hope to see you on the DZ soon.
Seems like most of the stuff you asked has been answered. Getting started can take a while, so don't feel like you have to get everything right out of the gate.

Thank you guys so much with the information. I'll have my market garden impression finished by next week, just going through and getting the odds and ends, k rations, felt pads, gloves, insignia, mess kit, etc. Running as a medic is totally fine with me for my first event with you gentlemen. I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone.
