1) Name, Age, and Location
Brian Wiswell, 55, Murrieta CA
2) How did you hear about Fox Company, 506th?
I heard about Fox Company from one of it’s members and friend of mine, Keith Harriott. Also, a new friend of mine - Aaron Valenti - recommended this group.
3) Do you have any reenacting experience? Have you done World War II reenacting before?
I have about 10 years of American Civil War reenacting experience. Of those 10, about 7 have been as a Company NCO. I'm sorry but I have no WW2 reenacting experience.
4) Why do you want to join our unit? What drew you to us instead of some of the other Allied units in the CHG and RPS?
I was told that your unit has a lot of good people as members. As an experienced reenactor (American Civil War), I have learned that the foundation of any unit is it’s members.
5) What knowledge do you have of the Second World War? Are you familiar with the roles of the American paratrooper?
I would describe myself as a very amateur historian but also very enthusiastic about learning. I am a graduate of WWII Airborne Demonstration Teams jump school and now training as an Assistant Instructor for ADT.
6) Have you had any contact with World War II veterans previously?
I am proud to say that I had my Jump Wings pinned on my chest by WWII Airborne Veteran Leon "Jed" Jedziniak Medic 101st at my ADT graduation. I also met Gene Gilbreth. HQ 2nd 506 while in jump school. I have also had the pleasure to become acquainted with Dick Fields. 551st Co B.
7) What can you bring to this unit? Will you be an asset?
I have paratroopers uniforms, -1942’s, Class A and B, M1 Garande (recently arrived from CMP), Corcoran jump boots, and Helmet.
Most importantly, I can bring an attitude of cooperation, teamwork, enthusiasm for WWII history, and and willingness to learn.
8) Anything else we should know about you?
I am a retired Fire Captain with 28 years of service, happily married, and a proud father of two adult children.
